What is Rachel's Challenge?
Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School in the USA on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion coupled with the contents of her six diaries have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in America and shortly to be introduced into Northern Ireland.
Powerful video/audio footage of Rachel's life and the Columbine tragedy holds students spell-bound during a one hour school presentation that motivates them to positive change in the way they treat others.

Ed Writes: - "God Knows Me .... and Loves Me Anyway - That Blows My Mind" - This song is based on 1 John 4:10
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.(New International Version)
How terrific to see "Love Me Anyway" as your new #1. I'm telling everyone about the great taste in music you all have in Ireland
I'm between flights here returning to Miami from Birmingham (Alabama), but received the great news. Thank you so much for playing my songs (Friday, too). You've certainly made my day, week, and month!
Thanks again and God bless.

STUDENTS IN SOUTHERN REGIONAL COLLEGE ARE ENCOURAGED
TO OPEN THEIR MINDS TO THEIR MENTAL HEALTH
Students in Southern Regional College (SRC) are being asked to come along to the Open Your Mind Mental Health and Well-being Fayres that will take place across all five campuses in March/April 09.
Student volunteers from the college have been taking part in the project over the last six months and would like to invite all of their fellow students to the events. The volunteers have participated in OCN accredited training in areas such as Understanding Mental Health, Stress Management and Media Skills training. These events aim to raise awareness of how students can protect their own mental health in a fun and innovative way. Students can avail of a free de-stressing head massage, pick up an information pack and speak to local organisations about services available in their local community.
The last three events take place on : -
Tuesday 21st April Newry Campus 10am 3pm
Tuesday 28th April Armagh Campus 10am 3pm
Thursday 30th April Lurgan Campus 10am 3pm

Habitat for Humanity celebrates 15 years in Northern Ireland
2009 is the 15th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity in Northern Ireland. As part of our celebrations we are taking 250 people to Beius, Romania in October for 1 week to build 10 houses.
We have already booked the 250 plane seats and after recently launching the event we have 75 of these places filled. We are looking for enthusiastic people to sign up and go. Anyone over 18 years of age can participate as a group or individual, no construction experience is needed. We have male and female volunteers ranging from 18 70.
The dates are 3rd-10th October 2009
Cost £1500 per person (covers flights, insurance, accommodation, food & clean drinking water, transport, first aid provision, orientation materials and a donation to Habitats work).
If anyone wants any further information please contact Habitat on 028 9024 3686 or see the website www.habitatni.co.uk

Habitat for Humanity is a non denominational, Christian housing movement committed to the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses worldwide, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for over 1.5 million people in over 90 countries.
Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland was founded in 1994; the work is focussed on regenerating and reconciling communities that have suffered from 35 years of conflict and on delivering affordable housing solutions in areas most at risk. For 15 years self- build home ownership projects have brought together more than 15,000 volunteers from all backgrounds to build alongside families.
For every 1 house we build locally, we fund and build 10 internationally.
Habitat NI is a key partner in Habitats global mission; raising funds to support international projects and advocating on behalf of those in decent shelter.
Through the Global Village programme, Habitat NI provides opportunities for local volunteers and teams to work with homeowner families in communities around the world, building houses.
